I remember this time in 2009 when I visited the Doctor for my annual MOT – it wasn’t a good day.
As I started the car this morning to return for my 2010 MOT I thought that things would be a little better – after all I was a lot lighter so he wouldn’t have so much to complain about.
They always leave the weight until last, don’t they?
That was one aspect that I thought might put a smile on his usually stolid face.
I really did think something was wrong when he took my blood pressure and said: “That can’t be right, let’s try that again.”
When he took it the second time he looked at me grunted and said: “Right, jump on the scales please.”
His reaction was one of disbelief when he said:”Bloody hell, either my scales are broken or you’ve lost some weight!”
“Your blood pressure is almost normal and your weight loss is impressive.”
“Do me a favour Mr Hagen; bugger off and come back in a year.”
I swaggered out of that surgery feeling ten years younger – in fact I felt like a million quid.
I’d lost over 3 stone, 43 lbs to be correct and had achieved almost normal blood pressure in just under 11 weeks.
I’ll let you know when I loose 52 lbs – a full bag of potatoes.
Alternatively if you don’t want to know just tell me to shut up and I’ll keep it to myself!
Have a good day!
